Franchising is the means whereby a business owner has established a proven business model and a means of developing that business grants to other third parties a licence or permission to use that business model, it's intellectual property rights and it's know how to carry out the business in an area for a fixed period of time. In return a signing on fee and monthly fees are paid by the third party (franchisee) to the business owner. Franchising is one of the most successful methods of doing business known to entrepreneurs.
We as Solicitors to the Irish Franchise Association have particular expertise in this area. We act on behalf of both franchisors and franchisees in advising on franchise contracts and related business matters.
